Setup guide

From a new account to an agent answering a real phone line.

Before you start

  • A Renggo account.
  • A Twilio account with at least one phone number (a trial account works), or a SIP trunk or PBX you manage.

Create an agent

In Agents, create an agent from a template or from scratch. Choose its voice engine in the agent's settings; provider keys for the pipeline engine live in Settings, then Engines.

Talk to the agent in your browser before you connect a number. No phone needed.

Connect Twilio

Go to Settings, then Integrations, then Twilio and enter your Account SID and Auth Token. Your Twilio numbers then appear under Phone Numbers.

Connect a number

In Phone Numbers, connect a number and assign the agent that should answer it. Renggo configures the number's voice webhook in Twilio for you.

Make a test call

Call the number. When you hang up, open Call History to see the transcript, tool calls, extracted variables and why the call ended.

Optional: SIP

To register desk phones or softphones, create a SIP domain in Settings, then SIP, add credentials and route them to an agent, or allow-list your PBX's IP addresses. To bring your own carrier, use Connect SIP trunk in Phone Numbers.

Optional: outbound calls

Use Outbound Call to place a call: enter the destination in E.164 format, choose the caller ID and the agent, and add any call variables. Outbound calls can also be placed through the API.
